1 Co 15:50-58 『I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. . . .』

This is the promise of God. God has promised that He will change our mortal bodies into the immortal ones in a moment, at the last trumpet. The promise of eternal life is a gift from God, which is granted only to those who partake of the bread and wine which represent the body and blood of Christ by celebrating the Passover of the new covenant. For them, there is a living hope that at the last trumpet, the dead will be raised and those who are still alive will be changed and they will meet Christ together in the air.

1 Th 4:13-18 『. . . For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.』

This is the scene where the mortal body is changed into an immortal body as stated in 1 Corinthians. This perishable body puts on the imperishable, and this mortal body puts on immortality—this happens to the people who keep the Passover of the new covenant, who live in the promise of God. On the contrary, those who do not live in the new covenant cannot receive the promise of eternal life. Without the promise of eternal life, how could they be changed into immortal beings?
In order to change our mortal bodies into the immortal ones, God has given us the Passover of the new covenant, the truth of life. Therefore, the apostles celebrated this precious Passover year after year, and even after the Apostolic Age it continued to be celebrated. However, at the Council of Nicaea held in A.D. 325, the Passover was completely abolished by Satan. Afterwards, the Passover, the truth of life, disappeared from the earth for a long time. After the 1600-year-long period, Christ who came to this earth a second time restored the Passover to His chosen people in the last days. By this, God's work of salvation is to be completed. We can confirm this through the prophecies of the Bible (Heb 9:28; Isa 25:6-9).

The Passover through which God promises us life God makes streams gush forth in the desert and the buds of life come out on dry branches. This promise of God is fulfilled through the Passover of the new covenant. Those who receive this promise of life will become immortal, and their mortal bodies will be transformed into immortal, imperishable bodies. This is the teaching of the whole Bible.

Heb 9:15-22 『For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. . . .』

The new covenant has the power to enable those who are called by God to receive the promised eternal inheritance of heaven. Some people may ask doubtfully, "It is merely a piece of bread and a cup of wine. How can we have eternal life just by eating the bread and drinking the wine?" However, the Passover contains a promise that God has made to us. Christianity is a religion based on God's promise. We are blessed by believing the promises which God has made to us and putting them into practice. No matter how diligently we believe in God, unless we celebrate the Passover, it is nothing but our own personal faith without God's promise.
"I will bestow blessing on you if you keep the seventh-day Sabbath." This is a promise between God and His people. "I will give you eternal life if you eat bread and drink wine on the Passover."
This is also a promise which God has given us. We may eat bread and drink wine in ordinary times, but God doesn't give any promise to that bread and wine. God has especially chosen the Passover to fulfill His promise to us. The Bible says that if we believe the promise of God and put it into practice, God will change our mortal bodies into the immortal ones so that we may experience the glorious moment when we will meet Christ in the air. Relying on the promise of God, we participate in the holy and precious Passover. So, we should live according to the example of Christ, following the path He walked. Our thoughts have to resemble the thoughts of Christ, and our behaviors should also change, so that we may become worthy to be called Christians. Since Christ came to this earth in order to save the world, our goal in life should be the same as that of Christ.

Let's preach the gospel of the new covenant to all nations, especially to the countries where the good news has not yet reached, so that they can all participate in God's work of salvation. To preach the gospel of the new covenant to the whole world, many brothers and sisters are now flying to and from all nations, like clouds, like doves to their nests. All our brothers and sisters in Zion! Let us strive even harder in preaching this gospel and depend firmly on the promise of God, so that we may become worthy enough to enter eternal life.

From the Mortal Body to the Immortal Body
People of Zion participate in the festival of life, which God grants, by keeping the Passover holy every year. The Gospels of the New Testament show that Jesus established the Passover as the new covenant, saying, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer" (Lk 22:15).
Why did Jesus eagerly desire to celebrate the Passover with His disciples? It was because He wanted to accomplish His administration of redemption to save the sinners, who were bound to die, by making their bodies immortal through the Passover of the new covenant. People say that the manna coming down from heaven or Lazarus' rising from the dead is a miracle. In actuality, however, there is no greater miracle than making human beings, who were destined to die eternally, immortal beings forever through the Passover. Let's look into God's wondrous miracle of changing our mortal bodies into immortal ones and take a look at the words of promise concerning it. Human beings are all slaves to sin Everyone born into this world cannot escape death. Although it is said that man is the lord of all creation, he must yield to the power of death in the end. So, we cannot help but say that man is a slave to sin, rather than the lord of all creation.

Heb 9:27 『Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,』
Ro 7:24-25 『What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? . . .』
The above words in the book of Romans show not only Apostle Paul's personal anguish and lamentation, but that of all people. Man is to live a weary, hard life, being chained to death. In order to live a longer and healthier life, people seek medical help from famous doctors or good medicine even though it costs so much, but nobody can escape death and after death they are to face judgment. The Bible tells us this fact.

Ps 90:9-10 『All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan. The length of our days is seventy years—or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.』

Just as the Bible says that we "fly away," our life passes away very quickly. Even for such a short life span, people live a sinful life that is not pleasing to God, and all of their days pass away under the wrath of the Lord; their life is filled with trouble and sorrow and it fades away quickly. Living without knowing God is like rushing towards death—such a life is just like a breakless car. So, Solomon testified that everything is meaningless if we look deeply into life.

Ecc 1:1-11 『The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem: "Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the Teacher. "Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless." What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun? . . .』

People make all kinds of efforts for meaningless things, but eventually their life ends in death. Since Solomon realized this emptiness of life, although he had everything—wealth, splendor, power and wisdom which everyone envied, he came to the conclusion that all of man's toilsome labor under the sun is totally useless, saying, "Meaningless! Meaningless! Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless." God has given us the Passover, the feast of life God looked down from heaven on human beings living such empty and meaningless lives, and took pity on them. Having pity on us who couldn't escape the agony of death and the tortures of hell in the future, God came down to this earth to give us eternal life.

Heb 2:14-15 『Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.』

Jn 10:10 『"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."』 God Himself came to this earth to grant eternal life to human beings who were destined to die—this is the most blessed and joyful news for us. Now, let's see how God gives us eternal life.

Jn 6:53-57 『Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. . . ."』

To save us by letting us eat His flesh and drink His blood, God has to sacrifice Himself. For so many sinners who are dying, God has established the principle of truth—that is giving them eternal life by sacrificing Himself. If a kernel of wheat dies, it sprouts and blooms and produces many seeds—a hundred times or a thousand times what was sown. This is the principle that God has taken. The flesh and blood of Christ that grants eternal life is given to mankind through the Passover.

Mt 26:17-19, 26-28 『. . . So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. . . . While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."』

Lk 22:7-15, 19-20 『. . . When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. . . ." And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you."』

Jesus says that we have eternal life if we eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood. By saying this, Jesus means that He will give us eternal life if we eat bread and drink wine on the Passover. God has given us the Passover in order to redeem us, mortal beings, from death and grant us eternal life and then take us to heaven. This is God's ultimate will contained in the Passover. So, in the book of Luke, this Passover is described as the "new covenant" which Jesus established while He was on the earth. The kingdom of heaven where those who have received the promise of eternal life can enter The Passover of the new covenant is not just a feast, but it is God's promise to lead mankind to the way of eternal life. The Bible calls this blessed news the "gospel." So, Apostle Paul called himself a servant of the gospel or a minister of the new covenant. Thus, he made it clear that the gospel is the new covenant. God came to this earth and established the Passover of the new covenant through His precious blood to give us eternal life. Let's find out the reason why God wanted to give us eternal life.

Rev 21:1-4 『Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. . . . Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death . . .』

The kingdom of God is an eternal world where there is no death. To live where there is no death, the first condition is to have eternal life. So, in order to bring us to that place, God has promised us eternal life through the bread and wine of the Passover of the new covenant, and has opened a new and living way by which those who have eternal life can go back to heaven. When the everlasting kingdom of heaven comes, those who have received the promise of eternal life in the truth of the new covenant will be changed into the spiritual beings over whom death can never reign again and will go to that eternal place.

The Sacred Assembly of the Day of Resurrection 2009
Datum 2009/04/12
On April 12, the day [Sunday] after the Sabbath following the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Sacred Assembly of the Day of Resurrection was held to commemorate the great power of Christ who destroyed the power of death and rose from the dead three days after He was crucified.

The Day of Resurrection originated from the day when the Israelites crossed the Red Sea and landed on the eastern shore of it after they came out of Egypt. The name of this feast in the Old Testament is the Feast of Firstfruits. The Israelites brought to the priest a sheaf of the first grain they harv ested, and he waved the sheaf before God on the day after the Sabbath (Lev 23:9-14). Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of the Feast of Firstfruits by rising from the dead as the fristfruits of those who had fallen asleep, on the day following the Sabbath after He was crucified on the Feast of Unleavened Bread (1 Co 15:20).

Mother gave glory to Heavenly Father who broke the shackles of death and overcame the power of Satan, and blessed Her children by praying that they would be able to achieve the rise of faith as the workers of the new covenant who preach the gospel to the whole world with all their heart, mind and soul. General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim said, “Today is a very delightful day when we are given the living hope that the dead in Christ will be raised imperishable and that those who have not tasted death will be changed into angels in a flash,” and he asked the members to preach the gospel boldly like the saints of the early Church, being born again as new creatures who hope for things in heaven (1 Co 15:50-58; 1 Th 4:13-18; Col 3:1-17).

In addition, he repeatedly emphasized, saying, “When the Israelites shouted altogether, the walls of Jericho fell down, so they were able to enter the land of Canaan. Likewise, when we shout the salvation of Heavenly Mother with an undivided heart, putting on the resurrection of the righteous as the weapon of salvation, then Babylon will fall and many souls will take part in the resurrection of the righteous” (Ro 6:5-14; 2 Co 3:5-6). After the service, the members broke bread together according to the example of Jesus who took bread, gave thanks, broke it and gave it to His disciples on the day when He was resurrected, so their spiritual eyes were opened and recognized Him (Lk 24:13-35). They also hoped that all people around the world would participate in the resurrection of life granted by Heavenly Mother, longing for the glorious day when they will be changed in a flash.

The Happy Moments for Families to Share Love Together

In May, called the “month of family” in Korea, when summer was just around the corner, a meaningful event was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. On May 10, the “2nd New Jerusalem Festival for Families” was successfully held; over 12,000 people including the members and their families from the northern areas of Gyeonggi Province were invited to the event. Under the clear blue sky spread out like a picture, each family gathered together to share food they’d prepared. After lunch, they spent quality time with their family, taking a look around the Institute and posing for pictures in front of the man-made waterfall pouring down cool refreshing water. They also took a look at the photos exhibited in the main building and the education hall, through which they found out the present status of the domestic and overseas missions. In addition, they watched a Church video containing an overview of volunteer activities on the big projector screen installed in front of the Theological Seminary.

Around 1 p.m., the welcoming ceremony began. Mother expressed Her warm welcome and gratitude to the members and their families who participated in the Festival and made the event more meaningful and successful. She told them about the blessings of the kingdom of heaven, their spiritual home, and expressed Her wish for them to live joyful and happy lives by sharing the blessings of heaven with their loving family members. General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim prayed for all the members of each family to be bound together in love and live in peace and harmony. Then he briefly introduced the history of the Church of God, saying that the Church of God believes in God the Mother, following the truth of the Bible. In addition, he expressed his hope that they would have a great time with their family members sharing love together and enjoying the beautiful weather and that they would also become bonded together in the heavenly family. The event started with a magnificent and powerful performance by the Brass Band. It was accompanied by a medley of children’s songs, a fan dance and floral coronet dance by the cute little angels. Their performances livened up the atmosphere of the event. Then there were performances by the Messiah Orchestra, the 38th Overseas Visiting Group and the United Choir and the Men’s Choir, and it made the event much more enjoyable.

the performance event, traditional Korea folk games were played in the outdoor soccer field: neolttwigi (seesaw jumping), gulungsoi (trundling a hoop), tuho (arrow throwing game), jegichagi (shuttlecock kicking), ttakjichigi (slap-match game), etc. All the members of each family, from grandparents to grandchildren, had fun playing the games in spite of the hot sun in early summer. This day, love was in full bloom among the members of each family. All the participants returned with joy and satisfaction, saying, “We don’t get together often because each of us is so busy. Today, all of our family members have gathered together after a long time. We had a really good time.” The New Jerusalem Festival for Families will be continuously held for each Union of the local Churches.

The Feast of Tabernacles - Ahnsahnghong

The Feast of Tabernacles

The Feast of Tabernacles is the last of the autumn feasts, and it is the final feast of the seven annual feasts. It is celebrated from the 15th to the 22nd of the seventh month, by sacred year (Lev. 23:34-36).

The Feast of Tabernacles was not only celebrated in the Old Testament times, but it was also commemorated in the New Testament times by Jesus and His apostles. In this last age, too, the Church of God celebrates this feast, following the teachings of Second Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong. Christ Ahnsahnghong came to this earth according to the prophecies of the Bible, and he rebuilt the once-ruined Zion, restoring all of the feasts of God.

Passover - Ahnsahnghong

Christ Ahnsahnghong, Who Restored the Passover of the New Covenant
The Passover was abolished at the Council of Nicaea in A.D. 325. At that time, the Passover completely disappeared from the world. Who on earth can have eternal life as the truth of life was abolished? Therefore, Jesus said that He would come a second time to restore the Passover.
Heb. 9:28 『...so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.』 Ahnsahnghong restored the Passover of the new covenant that had been abolished by Satan. Then, who do you think Ahnsahnghong is?

Isa. 25:6-9 『On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine—the best of meats and the finest of wines. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. In that day they will say, "Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."』

Ahnsahnghong, who restored the Passover of the new covenant, is the Second Coming Christ—God—who appeared in accordance with all of the prophecies of the Bible. The saints of the Early Church had cherished and celebrated the Passover of the new covenant! Christ Ahnsahnghong came in the flesh and restored the Passover so that we may be saved from the impending plagues. The Passover of the new covenant is the very gospel of Christ.

Passover - Ahnsahnghong

The Last Plagues and the Passover
It is only through the Passover that we can be saved from God's last plagues.

Matt. 24:37-39 『"As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man."』

1 Thess. 5:1-3 『Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.』

The most urgent thing now is for us to listen to the news of salvation. Let's study the verses in the Bible that show us how we can escape the last disaster. The earth will surely meet its doomsday, either by a world war or by God's mighty power. There are many prophecies in the Bible concerning the end of the age. Whoever absolutely believes and follows the prophecies will be saved. If anyone does not believe the message of salvation, he cannot obtain eternal life, even though he may try to seek salvation by his own means (such as making an underground shelter, going to another planet by rocket, fleeing to a peaceful country, or hiding himself within an atomic submarine under a North Pole iceberg).
These are merely temporary methods to hide from danger. In regard to this, some prophets prophesied as follows:

Zeph. 1:18 『Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the LORD's wrath.』

Amos 9:2-4 『"Though they dig down to the depths of the grave, from there my hand will take them. Though they climb up to the heavens, from there I will bring them down. Though they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, there I will hunt them down and seize them. Though they hide from me at the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent to bite them. Though they are driven into exile by their enemies, there I will command the sword to slay them. I will fix my eyes upon them for evil and not for good."』

Now, the time has come to study and to follow the way of salvation, according to God's guidance, displayed in the prophecies of the Bible, instead of seeking man's ways. In order to give salvation to those who believe in the prophecies, God has allowed the history of ancient times as a shadow, revealing what will happen in the end of the age.

Ex. 12:12-14 『"On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn―both men and animals―and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt. This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD―a lasting ordinance."』

In Hebrews 11:28, it is written, "By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel." This means that no destructive plague was brought upon the houses where the blood of the Passover lamb had been sprinkled, because it became a sign. God's last plagues will be brought upon this sinful world. At that moment, who on earth can escape? Can't the people who have the blood of Jesus, who have celebrated the Passover, escape? The power of the Passover will be revealed when the last plagues are brought upon the earth. Those who have not celebrated the Passover will regret it, and they will face God's wrath and punishment.

Passover

In order to go back to the kingdom of heaven, lost because of our sins, we must first be forgiven for our sins. The Passover is the truth of God, through which we can have the forgiveness of our sins and can enter the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 4: 17-21 『The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him..."He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind..."... and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."』

Some may ask who men are captive to. Jesus freed His people from their sins and from the devil's power through His precious blood, the blood of the Passover Lamb.

Rom 6:22 『But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.』

The history of the Israelites—who entered the desert after being emancipated from Egypt, through the blood of the Passover lamb—reveals that in the New Testament times, the people who eat the flesh of Jesus, the Passover lamb, and drink His blood will enter the spiritual desert, after being freed from their sins (1 Cor. 10:1-12).

The Parable of the Fig Tree

The Parable of the Fig Tree

The Bible prophesied that Jesus would appear a second time (Heb. 9:28). Ahnsahnghong—whom the Church of God believes in as their Savior—is Jesus who has come a second time, according to the prophecy. Then, when is Jesus prophesied to come a second time? Why does the Church of God believe that the Second Coming Christ is Ahnsahnghong?

Through the parable of the fig tree, Jesus revealed that He would come for the second time in 1948, when Israel—represented as the fig tree—would gain its independence. Ahnsahnghong came in 1948 according to the prophecy of the fig tree, so the Church of God believes in Him as the Second Coming Christ. Then, does the Bible disclose when Jesus will come?

Signs of the End of the Age

Signs of the End of the Age

When the disciples asked about the signs of Jesus’ second coming and of the end of the age, Jesus said:

Matt. 24:3-33 『"...At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, And all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming onThe clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels witha loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one endof the heavens to the other. Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as itstwigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so,when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door."』

Since it is written, "As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that it is near," we must come to know the timing of the fig tree and we must receive Jesus when He comes a second time.
